“God hath not given” means it is not God but Satan who is behind ALL forms of fear, where “fear” is “to lack of mental or moral strength.” Since this is the only place this Greek word for “fear” is used, we take it by definition to mean “a lack of courage.”
Therefore, “the spirit of fear” is where our spirit is in a constant battle with our flesh to have the courage to chose to do right, and in this case, to chose to go soulwinning.
Jesus said, “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41b). Will we trust God’s Spirit or our flesh?
