Do You Have A Guardian Angel?

The term “Guardian Angel” comes from religion and the world to give a sense of supernatural protection outside of trusting God alone. Though this phrase is never found in the Bible and our guardianship is never seen in the hands of any angel, God does charge these created servants of His to be “ministering spirits” for born-again believers (Hebrews 1:14). Our guardianship is always found in the hands of God alone (Psalm 121), where our prayers are to be directed. It is at God’s beckoning call alone that His angelic servants are dispatched to minister to His creation.

Many verses reveal an army of heavenly hosts awaiting God’s command. Jesus as our example, as Almighty God, could have called 72,000 angels at a moment’s notice to defend Him from all sides as the Man Christ Jesus (Matthew 26:53). One angel killed 185,000 men in 2 Kings 19:35, which means 72,000 angels could have killed over 13 billion men. Let that sink in to the amount of power at God’s disposal on our behalf, twice our world’s population. However, it was not the Father’s will for the Son to call upon these angels, nor is it His will for us to do so either.

Today, angels are still involved as “ministering spirits” to God’s children, yet this involvement will never be detected by us as angels (Hebrews 13:2). With this, we are warned never to worship angels, nor to be deceived into such an act, because in doing so we have not lost our salvation but will have lost our rewards in Heaven (Colossians 2:18).

So, answering the question, “Do You Have A Guardian Angel?” — the answer is yes, but in the greater sense of having a “Guardian Army” — yet, the answer is no as being guardians at our personal beckoning call.

Angels are God’s mighty servants from Heaven, while we are His servants from earth, mighty only through the power of God (1 Peter 1:3-5).
