The Devil’s Faith

Last week we saw that Hell is real, and only Satan wants man to go there. Hell was designed for Satan and his fallen angels, yet it continues expanding itself as men are dropped into eternal doom. (Matt. 25:41; Isa. 5:14)

James 2:19 says, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” This verse is used when witnessing to someone who says they believe in God, but they refuse the Gospel. James makes it very clear that believing there is one God is not how to obtain salvation. In context, he is speaking to those who claimed to be saved with no evidence of salvation, which speaks equally to many “Christians” today. They live their lives like the world, treat the Bible, church and sin like the unsaved treat it, and without shame. James is giving a warning that evidence is showing their salvation to be no different than the Devil’s.

The Devil’s Faith in God is stronger than any man’s Faith. Why? His Faith is already sight (2 Cor. 5:6-7). He walked with God, talked with God, sees God every day, knows Heaven and Hell are real, believes without a doubt the Bible is God’s Word.

The Devil’s Faith may be strong, but James tells us that he trembles knowing his Fate.

The Devil’s Faith in one God never gave him eternal salvation. Salvation only comes through Jesus, who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

Jesus taught us how our little and weak Faith accomplishes greater things as our salvation. He said, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove” (Matthew 17:20). A mountain of sin has condemned man to Hell but can be removed in an instant with just little Faith!

Many today call themselves a “Christian,” but it is The Devil’s Faith that is leading them to The Devil’s Fate! God told us how to remedy this Fate, by applying Faith in the right place: “The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believeFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 3:22; 10:13).
