So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment… (Esther 8:14a)
In Esther, we see the hatred of Satan for no other reason than Jews were God’s chosen people. They had done no act of violence, nor were a threat to the king. All they had to do was be born.
Such is the case with us. All we had to do was be born, and a death sentence was pronounced upon us. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God … For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom. 3:23; 6:23). Without Christ, we are doomed to die in our sin.
God cannot change our death sentence, so He made a way of deliverance. Christ took our place and died for our sins (Rom. 5:6-8)! As in Esther 8, this proclamation has been written in the Bible, in the King’s Name, sealed with the King’s Ring (the Spirit of God)! It cannot be changed! God’s Holy Writ tells us of His love and gift of salvation. However, it is of none effect unless it’s delivered to those under the death sentence. Those that need deliverance must know there is a Savior, and Jesus is that Savior they need! Otherwise, they are doomed to die in their sins.
“posts” means “run.” The Urgency of the Posts is that we enter the race that’s set before us (Heb. 12:1-2), as messengers of God’s Greatest Decree! Salvation has been bought and is promised! No news in the kingdom is more important! Yet, without the posts, the world cannot respond! “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! … So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom. 10:14-15,17)
As with the posts in Esther, at the king’s commandment, we have been given a life-changing message to deliver, that the sentence of death has been superseded by the proclamation of life
