Our stand on biblical precepts, principles and preferences has us accused of being legalistic and a militant fundamental.
We deny being called “legalistic.“ Why? Because none of what we are is about requiring any of our preferences or God’s Law for someone’s salvation, which is the definition of legalism. How many of them require obeying the 10 Commandments and other Laws in Lordship? They are legalistic, not us.
We accept being called “militant fundamentalist.” Why? Because that was what fundamentalism was considered by them from the very beginning.
Fundamentalism today has been watered down to 5 Fundamentals that allows them to justify crossing boundaries of ecclesiastical separation, which is a clear violation of a fundamental in God’s Word. We wholeheartedly agree with the 5 they have selected, but wholeheartedly disagree that they refuse to take “all the counsel of God” (Romans 20:27).
True Fundamentalists today need not shy away from the term “militant fundamentalist.” This is not branding us as an extremist, even though it is extremely different then where they are. This simply means we stand on all of God’s precepts and principles, and establish our biblical preferences based solely on God’s Word. This means we go beyond their 5 Fundamentals as God expects, and obey all of the Word of God.
