AA And Worldly Addiction Counseling Fails

AA and the world’s addiction counseling are good sources of encouragement, but fail because their goal is to change the temporal flesh and not the eternal soul. The flesh of an addict is already weak and failing when attending these counseling sessions, so all they can hope to do is temporarily get an addict back on the wagon.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:4)
God is the only hope for both temporal and eternal change. Counseling for the believer starts with getting right with God. Faithfully obeying Him is our armor against all sin and addictions. I went for counseling for drugs and alcohol, my soul was saved that day, my addiction and cravings were gone from that day, and look where God has brought me so many years later.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. … put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” (Romans 13:12,14)
