by This is just a brief ponder for those who think any English Bible version is OK. There are many statistics you can search and see the vast number of changes that most Bible versions make, supposedly with the intent of easier reading then the KJV. A major problem is the amount of sound doctrine that is changed or completely removed. Is it any wonder we have so many denominations with different interpretations, and so many different types of Baptists just in America that do the same (Independent, Fundamental, Reformed, Freewill, American, Southern, Union, Brider, BBF, BMA, GARBC, Landmark, Primitive, Progressive, etc.).
Here are a few sound doctrines that are brutally debated from the list of Baptists above, doctrines that every version but the KJV have monkeyed with by removing verses like the following verses:
- They removed Matthew 18:11 — This removes why Jesus came — “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.“
- They footnote that Mark 9:44 should be removed — This is annihilating the eternal punishment in Hell if you are not saved by Matthew 18:11 — “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
- They remove Mark 15:28 — This is taking away the fact that Jesus going to the cross was fulfillment of scripture to be the eternal offering for our sin in Isaiah 53 — “And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.”
- They remove Luke 17:36 — This removes the hope of the Rapture for those who were saved by Matthew 18:11 to avoid the eternal punishment of Mark 9:44 — “Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”
- They footnote that 1 John 5:7 should be removed — This puts the Trinity in question and the fact that Jesus in Matthew 18:11 had the authority as God to save all mankind from Hell in Mark 9:44 and He will Rapture His saved church away in Luke 17:36 — “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the holy Ghost, and these three are one.”
- They remove Matthew 23:24 — This removes the condemnation of the religion elite, of whom are those who debate the necessity to remove these verses based on their pious religiosity — “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.“
- They footnote that all of Mark 16:9-20 should be removed — These verses are the commission of the church. Some NIV Bibles have these verses removed, but they started putting them back with a footnote probably because of the length of missing verses — “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.“
Do you see a pattern emerging? The gates for Hell have removed “precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:10), turning today’s church away from the absolute truth of eternal salvation or eternal damnation? Funny/sad how they cannot see this, and if they really thought removing verses is the truth of scripture then they would have renumbered their verses in at least one of the 450+ English translations. However, an NIV and other Bibles leave a blank space for the verses they removed that remain in the KJV
Here is a hint. Every English Bible version but the KJV is from the same corrupt ancient text, which has these verses removed. It does not take much study to trace underlying texts through history to see this. So, in essence, reading and studying an NIV is the same as absorbing heretical doctrines from the Jehovah Witness Bible, the New World Translation. Maybe or maybe not to the JW extent, but the stark diversion at is unavoidable as seen in all the debates over doctrines found in the few verses mentioned above.
Notice also, a last thought, that the New World Translation is called a “Translation,” which is exactly what every English version is except for the KJV. The KJV is a transliteration, closely word for word, not based upon man’s pretext or paraphrase or commentary; even when words had to be added in the KJV for English clarity, they put them in italics to be honest to the reader. This is never done in any other English translation.
Is it any wonder the church today is in such a doctrinal mess? Lets not fall into Satan’s pitfall as He makes every attempt to ramraid the “gates of Hell” into the church (Matthew 16:18).
