by It is a known fact that Halloween is a celebration of the god of this world. It is based in sin, deception, fear, demons, etc. Is God pleased with His children participating or is this a grey area?
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 is still true today. Read the entire chapter and see just how much our testimony matters in our fight for separation against Satan. Then read from chapter 4 and see that Satan is using the testimony of God’s people in more areas than Halloween to blind the minds of the world from the simplicity of the Gospel.
A couple of questions from 4:2 that determine our participating in events that glorify the god of this world in 4:4:
- Have we “renounced the hidden things of dishonesty?”
- Are we “walking in craftiness?”
- Are we “handling the word of God deceitfully?”
- Are we “commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God?”
The power of these in 4:2 kicks off our hiding “our Gospel” in 4:3 and their blinding from the “glorious Gospel” in 4:4.
These verses are black and white, not grey. This should humble us away from any form of participation and towards total separation!
