Ye Which Are Spiritual

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
(Galatians 6:1)

As believers fail in the flesh, brethren are to be there to help them up and not kick them down. The reminder on this verse is, or stern warning coming out of Galatians 5, if we are not helping one another out of the failures of the flesh, then we can also be tempted to be in the same fault.

ye that are spiritual” does not mean brethren are super spiritual, it simply means they have applied Galatians 5 to their lives and are living and walking in the Spirit. This is a necessity before trying to help the one that has been overtaken in a fault, the one walking after the flesh and not the Spirit.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
(Galatians 6:10)

A selfish and self-centered society has permeated the church. “ye which are spiritual,” it is our job is to change this and focus on one another and not on self.

  • Salute one another” (Romans 16:16)
  • Forbearing one another” (Colossians 3:13)
  • forgiving one another” (Colossians 3:13)
  • teaching one another” (Colossians 3:16)
  • admonishing one another” (Colossians 3:16)
  • love one another” (1 Thessalonians 4:9)
  • comfort one another” (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
  • edify one another” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
  • exhort one another” (Hebrews 3:13)
  • consider one another” (Hebrews 10:24)

The battle between the Spirit and the flesh is real and difficult and painful, but a worthy battle to be called spiritual, and one day here the blessed words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” as we leave this painful temporal life and are ushered eternally “into the joy of thy lord.”

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
