Jesus wants to be both Christ and Lord of your life:
-
AS CHRIST, Jesus frees your soul from Hell. Sadly, many unbelievers refuse Christ’s free gift of eternal life (Acts 24:25; 26:28-29).
-
AS LORD, Jesus prepares your soul for heaven. Sadly, many believers refuse to thank Christ for His sacrifice by refusing to give give themselves back to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1-8).
This is not Lordship for Salvation, but rather Lordship for Sanctification. Both Salvation and Sanctification are received by your free will, and both will be eternally rewarded:
-
SALVATION rewards you with Heaven (1 John 5:11-13)
-
SANCTIFICATION rewards you in Heaven (Matthew 5:3-12; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15).
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36)
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” (Colossians 2:6-7)
