Reading Through Your Bible With Ease

I teach our church to use their daily devotional to assist them in consistency in their Bible, and that the Bible supersedes any devotional. I teach to read the entire chapter of the day’s devotion before reading the devotion.

My pondering this morning was this.  If we read our day’s devotion’s chapter each morning, and there are 1,189 chapters in the Bible, then in theory we can ready through our Bible every 3.25 years with ease. Granted, some chapters will be reused through this time frame in your devotional. At any rate, it is a consistent way to track your Bible reading. In reality, you can read through your Bible this way with pretty good certainty at least every 5 year.

This pondering should help us to be daily meditating in the Word, while using a sound devotional as a guide. If you do not have a daily devotional, consider Days of Praise that you can receive free to your email each day. You can signup here https://www.icr.org/icr-magazines
