Bladder Health

From the National Institute of Health, National Library of Medicine: “People rarely talk about bladder health, but everyone is affected by it. … As people get older, the bladder changes. The elastic bladder tissue may toughen and become less stretchy. A less flexible bladder cannot hold as much urine as before and might make you go to the bathroom more often. The bladder wall and pelvic floor muscles may weaken, making it harder to empty the bladder fully and causing urine to leak.”

A major key to bladder health is to drink plenty of water. Every part of the body craves water for life. Each day, our body must replace 2.4 liters of water. By 70-years-old we should have drank 6 million liters of water. A body can survive 3-5 days without water. Once the body is deprived of water, the cells and organs in the body begin to deteriorate:

  • 2% loss of your body’s water = energy decreases 20%
  • 10% loss of your body’s water = unable to walk
  • 20% loss of your body’s water = you are dead

As Jesus hung dying on the cross, He said, “I thirst.” He knew that physical water for himself was useless. What He was doing was offering himself as the Living Water. The Romans, Greeks, rulers, soldiers, all could careless if Jesus was thirsty … just crucify Him! In doing so, they were giving life force to the Living Water — “a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth” (Hebrews 9:17). Jesus as our testator died that His Water would be proved valid and decreed effective in God’s sight. Like the woman at the well in John 4, man just has to receive this Water for eternal health.
